Guess Who Landed in an Agency?

Yes, it's me!

I have officially landed a role as a digital creative specialist at a marketing agency!

It's been quite a journey and not one I expected to happen as it did, but here I am. The thing is, I'm figuring out how to still keep on top of my freelance work and external projects.

Between The Xo Social redesign, Phase 2 Business Planning for one client, and taking orders for digital design work, I'm still up and at 'em, despite the silence.

Luckily the agency I work for is relatively new. We're a subsidiary company under an umbrella of a pretty impressive IT Management company. To put it simply, the IT clients were complaining about their marketing departments and performance which led to the CEO founding an in-house marketing firm.

I've already designed the business cards and negotiated the production as well as put together a campaign plan for a client of ours. It's been about 2 weeks and the online performances of our social media work as well as our approach has been impressive. And I'm not just saying that because I work here, this is honestly a great new hybrid of organic, tech, and algorithm.

But I have found myself completely creatively drained by the end of the day. Before, I'd get home and open up every design suite on my computer and now the thought of touching photoshop when I get home is a bit daunting. And yeah, on one hand, it's great to have a job that allows me to explore and utilize my creativity, but on the other hand, I'm quite scared this might rob me of my best work for my client.

So I've had to sit down and really evaluate my time and effort. By no means am I ready to shut down my freelance work nor slow it down. But I am ready to get more organized and streamline my organization process. This just means better-planned calendars, rebooting my blackberry, utilizing order forms and redesigning a better and more concise business plan.

If anything I'm inspired to continue breathing new life into my projects and utilize the skills and resources I pick up from my position here at the agency.
